Photographs of your tour or experience, in exchange for a place on it
We photograph tours, activities, retreats and workshops in exchange for two places on a departure that is already running, rather than a fee. You get the activity as it actually happens, thirty to fifty edited photographs and three to five vertical videos, delivered within two weeks and licensed for your own site and every platform you sell on.
What an experience set has to prove
A tour is the hardest thing on this list to sell from photographs, because the buyer is not buying a room or a plate, they are buying a few hours of their holiday on trust. These are the frames that carry it.
- The activity in motion, not a group posed at the start of it.
- Faces of people who are clearly enjoying themselves, with their permission, which we collect properly.
- The guide doing the job. A named, visible guide is the single strongest thing in a tour listing.
- The scale of the place. Wide enough that a buyer can see where they will be standing.
- The equipment, and the state it is in. Buyers look for this and rarely find it.
- The weather as it comes. A tour that runs in the rain and looks good in the rain sells better than one that only exists in sunshine.
The exchange
| Your business | What you offer | What you get back |
|---|---|---|
| Experience or tour operator | Two places on a departure that is already running | The activity as it actually runs, 30 to 50 edited photographs, 3 to 5 vertical videos |
No invoice passes in either direction. If a trade is worth less to you than the photographs are worth to us, say so and we will adjust it or leave it. Note that a trade is still income for both sides in the eyes of a tax authority, and each of us handles our own.
When to shoot
On a departure that is going out anyway, with real guests rather than staff standing in. It costs you two unsold places rather than a day of operations, and it is the only way to get photographs that show what a guest will actually experience. Early season is best: the photographs are ready before the bookings you need them for.
What operators ask
Will you get in the way of the other guests?
No. We book on as participants and we do the activity. The photographs come from inside the group rather than from someone walking backwards in front of it, which is also why they look different from most tour photography.
What about our guests' privacy?
We ask, before the departure where possible, and we carry written releases. Anyone who would rather not appear does not appear, and we plan the frames around that. This is a standing part of how we work, not an extra.
Can we use these on our OTA listings?
Yes. Your own site, GetYourGuide, Viator, Airbnb Experiences, your social accounts, print and paid advertising, permanently.
